We invite applications from teachers who are keen to join a highly successful and enthusiastic department. We welcome active involvement in the development of our work in all its aspects and lend wholehearted support to our colleagues’ INSET needs. It is an exciting time in English at Park High and the future promises opportunities in many areas of the curriculum and in broadening professional experience and expertise.
A fantastic opportunity for an applicant who is keenly interested in how young people learn; a colleague committed to high standards in teaching and learning who will work well in a supportive and successful school. Our students make excellent progress across all key stages and our A level results are outstanding, with ALPS results which place us in the top 10% in the country. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic colleague to join our vibrant and successful English Department.
Currently, the TRL team within the department includes:
- Head of English, who oversees the department and manages year 11 specifically
- Deputy Head of English responsible for curriculum and attainment in years 9 and 10
- Key Stage 5 Coordinator
- Key Stage 3 Coordinator.
The school takes its commitment to staff development seriously. Staff engage in a wide variety of staff development activities, many of which are organised on-site. Professional development underpins all our work.
Park High School is an oversubscribed 11-18 comprehensive school of almost 1600 students, with around 200 students in the Sixth Form. Achievement levels are high and Level 3 Value Added measures support the view that the school is highly effective in helping students to make very good progress from their various starting points. We build and sustain lasting partnerships to the benefit of all and were designated a National Teaching School in May of 2014. We jointly lead the Canons Park Teaching School Alliance (with our local partner school, Canons High School) and are also strategic partners in the Harrow Collegiate TSA, along with all other local secondary schools.
