Contract: Part time, long term supply

Are you passionate about working with children and young people, helping them to engage, develop and progress into adulthood?

Are you adaptable, organised and creative?

Here at Vision we are seeking empathic, committed, resilient individuals, who are able to work flexibly and creatively to lead enriching activities and learning opportunities for children and young adults with a range of complex needs and challenging behaviours.

Successful candidates will be hands on and love working directly with young adults, using the natural environment and adventurous activities. Planning, delivering and evaluating sessions and activities is a key part of the development of all the students.

A summary of what the school does:

“Our aim is to engage our students by utilising the countryside and the environment. By drawing on the experience and knowledge of our team we have created a unique learning environment, which we can tailor to suit the needs of the most demanding of young people.

Students come to us with a variety of learning and behavioural challenges, who find that learning in an academic school setting is not suitable for them. Coming to this school provides them with an opportunity to experience a hands-on approach to learning, enabling them to develop new skills and interests with a view to preparing them for a return to education or employment in adulthood.

Working closely with organisations such as Natural England, our students get the opportunity to work on conservation projects on the nature reserve. From bird ringing, wildlife monitoring, habitat creation and land management, the students get to see a project from start to finish, understanding the impacts of their work and it’s outcomes.

We see relationship building as vital – with students, parents, carers and the wider community and we ensure that we offer welcoming safe places for children and young people to learn and prosper.”
