Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the following position: FULL-TIME TEMPORARY TEACHING POSTION

Commencing 2021 school year


Applicants must:

 Have a current NSW Working with Children Check.

 NESA Accreditation.

 Have a knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic ethos and mission of the school.

 Support the mission, teachings and ethos of the Catholic Church’s work in schools.

 Be generous, reflective practitioners with a growth mindset and a commitment to the development of lifelong learning habits.

 Be committed to the collaborative culture of the school as a Professional Learning Community.

 Have demonstrated ability to use data to inform practice and to differentiate instruction.

 Have a demonstrated ability to implement positive and supportive behaviour management practices.

 Have demonstrated ability to support students with additional needs.

 Have demonstrated ability to mentor and support colleagues and to lead whole-school initiatives.

About Mary Help of Christians Primary School SAWTELL

Mary Help of Christians Primary School is located in the mid–northern New South Wales coastal town of Sawtell and is an integral part of the faith community of the Sawtell Catholic Parish within the Lismore Diocese School System.

The school was formed in 1980 and is an educational facility that not only promotes academic excellence, but is also provides a personalised and flexible learning environment for its students. As a co-educational, K-6 Catholic Primary School, Mary Help Of Christians strongly supports the members of the parish community in providing a faith formation for the 368 students currently enrolled in the school.

The learning environment at this school is highlighted by well-resourced, flexible spaces with a priority being to focus on the development of digital citizenship for all students, utilising the school’s excellent bank of technology resources.

An outstanding array of playground facilities are available for the students, including expansive, well-maintained grassy playing fields, several well constructed climbing play equipment set ups, numerous sporting courts, a large sandpit play area and several shade covered passive play zones. A modern school hall is also a prominent school feature.

Curriculum

Mary Help of Christians Primary School provides a comprehensive educational program based on and taught in accordance with the Board Of Studies and Educational Student’s Syllabuses for NSW Education. An extensive range of support programs is a major contributor to student assistance in respect to the curriculum. Whilst the staff are committed to striving to achieve excellence in respect to student academic learning outcomes, an equal priority is the importance placed in preparing the students to succeed as citizens in our fast changing world.
