The Embley Estates Manager will drive forward the development and improvement of the 130 acre school estate while ensuring the premises are maintained to the highest standards of repair and safety.

 

The role of Estates Manager is central to the operation of the School and will provide operational vision and leadership in all aspects of school business in relation to the premises.  

 

The post holder has responsibility for the whole 130-acre estate which covers the Nursery, Preparatory, and Senior School as well as Boarding and Sports Facilities. The Estates Manager is responsible for managing the team of maintenance, grounds and housekeeping staff as well as contractors to ensure the facilities of the school are maintained to the highest standards.  They will also lead in ensuring compliance with premises related Health and Safety.

 

In association with the school’s professional advisers and the Bursar, they will oversee capital projects through all stages from concept to delivery working closely with the contractors to ensure completion on time and on budget.  

 

The successful candidate will be well versed in all matters related to facilities and buildings management and likely to have a professional qualification in this area. They must be proficient at negotiating contracts and ensuring a combination of high-quality service or product and good value for money at all times.
