To teach 30 weeks per year (term time only) in the evenings at King Edward VII Upper School


King Edward VII School is seeking to recruit confident, enthusiastic, suitably qualified teachers to teach a foreign language(s) as part of our established and popular evening class programme.  Classes take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7.15-9.00 pm on our Upper School site, Glossop Road.  In recent years the programme has welcomed more than 600 learners studying one of the 10 languages offered from beginner through to advanced levels.  The programme also offers on an annual basis, examination classes at GCSE or A Level in one or more languages. 

The successful candidate will: 

• be an excellent teacher of languages (previous adult teaching experience would be advantageous)

• have a passionate commitment to making languages stimulating and relevant for all 

• have the ability to teach Arabic/French/German/Greek/Italian/Japanese/Mandarin/Portuguese/Russian 

or Spanish from beginner to an advanced level

At this time, we are particularly seeking applicants for French and Spanish teaching positions but we would welcome applications from any of the languages mentioned above.

King Edward VII School is a mainstream, state-community, co-educational, non-denominational, secondary school for children aged 11-18. It is situated in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and it has over 1700 pupils on its roll, including over 600 in Sixth Form.

Students say they feel safe in school and behaviour is good; inspection findings confirm this. The vast majority are proud of their school. Attendance has improved and is now above average.
