Shrewsbury School is a leading co-educational independent school. It has 780 pupils aged 13-18, accommodated in 11 boarding houses and 2 day houses, and is set within an idyllic campus. The School has a wide range of facilities that are extensively used during term-time but also during the Easter and Summer holiday periods for our busy music and residential programmes.
This is a superb opportunity for an experienced, hands-on Events Manager who will be assisting the General Services Manager in the planning, implementation and support of the busy school curriculum events and commercial/residential programmes.
The position requires a blend of qualifications, experience, skills and abilities. These include a commitment to, and interest in, development, experience of organising and running events, training and presentation skills, information management and communication experience with strong front of house skills and IT competence.
You must be innovative, creative, influential and a strong planner with excellent writing and verbal communication skills. You must also share a passion with musical and theatrical activities although this is not essential but most of all, be able to demonstrate excellent team management, organisational, communication, planning and project management skills coupled with budget management
We are looking for someone who has the gravitas and a superb communicator to deal effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders with competing priorities.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent (hospitality qualifications)
- Experienced in the hospitality/events industry
- Commercially astute with experience of developing business.
- Strong IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) with experience of Publisher.
