Job overview

Are you a reliable and committed person looking for an exciting and flexible job role this summer?  If yes, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

The role

We are looking to hire a pool of Exam Invigilators (4-5) to join our wider exam team to support our busy exam periods this spring/summer.  Whilst experience working in the role is preferred, full training will be provided for the successful candidates.

The main purpose of the role is to supervise examinations and to ensure that guidelines and regulations for the integrity and security of the examination papers and procedures are followed during examinations sessions.

The successful candidates will have the ability to ensure a calm environment to give the candidates the best possible exam experience and have the instinct to comfort students who may be daunted by the prospect of sitting in an exam setting.  The candidates will also need to be clear and effective communicators, comfortable to facilitate student dialogue and ensure and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Hours will be agreed with the successful candidates in conjunction with their availability and the exam timetable will be provided in advance to ensure you can make the necessary plans.  Please check the examination periods below to see whether they suit you:

  • Monday 16th March - Friday 27th March 2020
  • Monday 11th May - Friday 22nd May 2020
  • Monday 1st June - Friday 12th June 2020

This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

About KAA

What KAA offers you?

Due to the academy opening in new buildings in 2014, our school facilities are purpose built and state of the art; providing a great environment to work in.

We also offer a number of free staff well-being activities including yoga and circuits plus free lunch for staff in the canteen.

The post holder must be committed to safeguarding the welfare of children.

About Kensington Aldridge Academy (KAA)

KAA is an 11 – 18 academy situated in the heart of Notting Hill. We opened in brand new buildings in 2014 with just Year 7 and our facilities are second to none. We are now in our ninth year of operation and are a full school with 1,250 students in Years 7 to 13.

KAA has grown to become one of the top academies in the UK. Our Ofsted report grades us outstanding in all categories and describes standards as “exceptional”. In 2018 we were awarded TES Secondary School of the Year, and our 2022 Good Schools Guide review praises the “phenomenal” education students receive.

Why work for KAA?

Making a real difference

KAA pursues the very highest standards in education, both inside the classroom and beyond. We believe all children can achieve good results, irrespective of their prior attainment or experiences. 60% of our students qualify for the Pupil Premium, but with our help they can overcome the barriers that relative poverty can create. Our ethos, spirit and commitment to ever-extending student achievement make KAA an incredible place to work and learn.

Unrivalled professional development

KAA is a high-performing environment where staff at all levels feel challenged and supported to achieve their professional goals. As you will see in our Ofsted report, CPD in our school is of an “exceptional” standard and is an ongoing focus for all staff. There are few better places to develop your skills as a teacher than here with us in Kensington.

Being valued

We invest in our staff and offer unique benefits, including: 180 school days (as opposed to the 190 other schools have); 15 training days (as opposed to 5); free breakfast and lunch for all staff everyday; a two-week half term in October; free staff exercise and well-being sessions, and much more.
