Uppingham School is seeking meticulous, organised, professional, and adaptable Exam Invigilators to contribute to the seamless administration of examinations.

Your responsibilities will encompass safeguarding exam materials prior to, during, and after assessments, supervising throughout the examinations, and ensuring the orderly departure of pupils upon exam completion. Your remit will span both internal and external exams, necessitating qualities of patience, composure, and tact, all complemented by a consistently professional attitude, whilst maintaining confidentiality.

Your working hours will vary with the exam schedule, reflecting the diverse array of assessments throughout the year although you will generally start at 08:30am for morning examinations and 1:30pm for afternoon examinations, the duration of which can last from one to five hours. 

Notably, the period spanning mid-April to the close of June (excluding half-term) represents a peak activity interval in our academic calendar. Occasional weekend availability might also be required to fulfil the department's needs.

Work is generally presented neatly and pupils’ note-taking is effective. They develop good numeracy skills and their capacity to think critically is notable. Creative abilities are well developed and their exploration of ideas is particularly marked in their enrichment activities. Pupils’ study habits are good. In the lessons observed, pupils worked very well with each other, and also worked well independently. They enjoy their work and this stems in part from the good-natured atmosphere in lessons. Pupils use information and communications technology (ICT) proficiently.”
