Job overview

Exam Invigilators

We have multiple vacancies available for suitable candidates to join our Invigilation Team on a casual basis.

The role is paid at £10.50 per hour.

To work under the supervision of the Examinations Officer and in the invigilation of candidates sitting examinations. All training regarding exam procedure and regulations will be given to successful applicants.

Also, to assist with many of the administrative tasks associated with the smooth running of the examinations. These will include the preparation of rooms, putting out materials and equipment, distribution, collection and sorting of scripts etc.

Although not strictly essential, preference will be given to applicants who are suitably qualified and experienced, ie with past experience of working in schools, with young people and/or examination administration. It is essential that invigilators inform us if they have any close family connections with candidates sitting examinations so they are not solely invigilating them.

Some invigilators will be asked to sit with students on a one to one basis to provide for them a reader and/or writer depending on the individual students’ needs, if this is the case additional training will be provided.

The hours will be on a casual adhoc basis and will vary from day to day, depending on the examination timetable. The main exam/testing sessions are September, November, January and March through to the end of June. Invigilators will not be required during the months that there are not exams being taken.
