Richard Huish College has a strong reputation regionally in its offer of a wide range of A level and vocational courses in Taunton and the surrounding areas in Somerset.

We are looking to increase our team of reliable and flexible exams invigilators to assist with both paper-based and on-screen examinations throughout the academic year. We are looking for individuals who can promote a supportive atmosphere for our students so that they achieve their best, as well as ensuring the security of the examination, before, during and after the examination.

Responsibilities will include:

·      Provide support for students with additional needs such as scribing on a computer and reading during the exams.

·      Preparing the rooms prior to examinations in accordance with JCQ regulations , including seating plans

·      Setting up on-screen tests, distribution of scripts and supervision of students during examinations

·      Ensuring the integrity and security of the exam and all relevant paperwork , including taking attendance register, collecting exam papers and scripts

·      Invigilating exams in both a group and 1-2-1 basis.

·      Promote and reinforce the safeguarding and welfare of students

Successful candidates must be numerate, literate and have good IT skills and must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.

This role will allow you to work flexible hours to meet the demands of examinations throughout the year. You must be available to work during the key examination periods throughout the year, especially during May - June, November, January and March. Exams are typically morning or afternoon sessions.

·        Rate of pay: £11.44 per hour plus statutory holiday pay totalling £12.82 per hour.

·        Hours: Term time only, seasonal hours based on the exam time table, between 8 am and 5pm. Morning, afternoon or full day sessions are available depending on your availability.

·        Start Date: May/June 2024, will include mandatory training sessions

·        Interviews: Will take place after 22nd April 2024
