Job purpose:

To join our team of invigilators and to invigilate for a full range of qualifications

Context:

The main exam series is in the Summer Term (May/June) this would form the principal working time for this role however we also hold exams and formal assessments in the Autumn (October/December) and Spring Terms (January/April) which would present further opportunities.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of the accepted Examination Board guidelines for examination invigilation
  • Support with set-up of the Examination venue
  • Check examination stationery and any special equipment / provision required
  • Instruct and monitor the candidates as they enter examination venue
  • Distribute Examination papers and Answer booklets
  • Compile attendance registers
  • Communicate with examination candidates as appropriate
  • Explain the examination regulations to candidates
  • Ensure examination timings are adhered to
  • Exercise vigilance during the examinations and monitor the room for illness, cheating and other irregularities
  • Deal with emergencies such as illness or fire evacuation
  • Collect examination scripts from candidates at the end of each examination
  • Report on any issues relating to the examination papers
  • Collect any necessary documentation before returning them examinations team

An Examination Invigilator Training event will be held in the Autumn Term, attendance will be required by all successful applicants
