Wakefield - College wide – (Wakefield Campus, Castleford Campus and possibly some external venues)

Fixed term contract for 6 months (with the possibility of extending the post thereafter) – Flexible/Casual Hours

We are recruiting for Examination Invigilators to invigilate a wide range of examinations within College, according to awarding body regulations and College procedures.

As an Examination Invigilator, your duties will include checking examination rooms, distributing and collating examination papers, briefing candidates with all the necessary information, including making announcements and reading out notices, and completion of all the related paperwork. As an Invigilator, you will need to be alert throughout the examination, remaining vigilant for any instances of malpractice, and must be able to respond appropriately to any candidate issues/problems.

Although exams for the majority of academic qualifications are paper-based, most vocational qualifications now have computer-based exams, therefore, confidence in using IT systems is essential.

As an Examination Invigilator, you will be placed in a pool of staff who may be called upon by the College to work as and when required and must be available to invigilate short as well as longer examinations.

As a minimum, applicants must be available to work on all of the following days in 2019:

• Tuesday 21st May (am)

• Tuesday 4th June (am)

• Thursday 6th June (am)

• Friday 7th June (am)

• Tuesday 11th June (am)

Ideally, applicants will be available on other dates in May, June and early July, although there is no guarantee that suitable invigilation work will be required/offered.

You will be required to complete training and work alongside an experienced invigilator on at least one day prior to the above dates.

Join us and we promise the support of a great team, as well as the satisfaction of contributing to learner achievements.

The Wakefield District
Wakefield offers a rare combination of heritage, countryside, entertainment, culture, shopping and sport. Whatever your interests, we hope you will want to explore the District and its many amenities.

For art lovers, there is the City Art Gallery and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, one of the world’s leading open-air galleries where a changing programme of international sculpture can be seen in the setting of a magnificent country park. Recent improvements to the Park include an underground gallery, visitor centre, shop and large restaurant - all the ingredients for a great day out. In 2011 the Hepworth gallery opened on Wakefield’s regenerated waterfront and presents a major collection of twentieth-century British artworks, with a collection of sculptures by locally-born Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore as its centrepiece.

Whatever your interests, we hope you will want to explore the District and its many amenities.
