The Hamblin Education Trust has operated since September 2016 consisting of two schools, North Cestrian School and Altrincham Grammar School for Boys. We are currently looking to recruit an examination support role within the Exams Office team at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys, to join a team of invigilators to ensure the correct procedures and regulations are followed, guaranteeing the integrity of every exam. To lead in and invigilate exams on a regular basis throughout the public exam season. Full training will be provided.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and dedicated individual to join the Exams Team during the Exam Season (7th May - 20th June 2026) to be available for all or part of this season. Hours between 8am to 4pm although flexible working and half days would be considered.
Please note that availability in mid-March will be needed for training purposes.
The post holder’s key responsibilities are:
• Supporting the Examination Team with the day-to-day preparation of exam rooms; laying out stationery including desk labels, and equipment as needed, ensuring clocks and notices are in place, and putting out exam papers in accordance with strict procedures.
• Assist candidates prior to the start of exams by directing them to their seats and advising about possessions permitted in the exam room. Ensuring candidates do not talk or communicate with others once inside the exam room.
• Ensuring the correct procedures and regulations are followed throughout the exams according to the JCQ guidelines. Maintaining strict confidentiality in relation to exams.
• Being aware of all access arrangements for relevant candidates within the exam room.

Founded in 1912, the school is rated “Outstanding in all Areas” by Ofsted and secures some of the best examination results at GCSE and A level in the country. Altrincham Grammar School for Boys is an academy school based in Altrincham, Cheshire for boys aged 11-18.
The school was founded in 1912. Altrincham Grammar School for Boys is a multi-ethnic seven-form entry 11-18 selective Academy School. It caters for boys who have been selected for a grammar school education from a wide area of South Manchester and North Cheshire.
