Job overview
We are looking to appoint a part-time Examinations Administrator (mornings only). The role works on an annualised hours basis and flexibility with working hours is an essential requirement of this role, as during busy exam/mock exam periods (primarily in January and May/June) there will be a requirement to work from 8.00am to 4.00pm across approximately 50 working days. This will be compensated by shorter working hours during less busy periods. Standard working hours are based around 20 hours per week, 8.00am to 12.00pm Monday to Friday during term time, variable hours outside term-time.
The position is responsible to:
- The head of Examinations for all aspects of GCE, GCSE and other centre related examinations and office administration
- The head of International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma for all aspects of IB related examination matters
- The head of A level for all aspects of A level related examination matters
Person Specification:
- Must be numerate, and used to working with spreadsheets and carrying out data entry
- Excellent knowledge and facility with MS Word and Excel
- Knowledge of working with databases would be useful
- Must pay great attention to detail and be meticulous and well-organised
- Effective verbal and written communication required with academic and support staff, pupils, parents and awarding organisations
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
- Previous experience of working in an academic environment or an examinations office would be an advantage
- Must be able to work with confidential information and act with probity when processing financial payments and secure exam materials
