About the Role

Are you an organised, detail-focused professional with experience in examinations and a strong understanding of JCQ regulations?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our MIS and Exams team as an Examinations Coordinator, supporting the Examinations Manager to ensure the College's examination processes are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with awarding body requirements.

You will play a key role throughout the examination cycle, from student registrations and entries through to results and post-results services. You will work closely with staff, students, awarding bodies and external stakeholders, helping to ensure examinations are well coordinated, secure and compliant.

The role also provides an opportunity to support and deputise for the Examinations Manager when required, including during inspections and day-to-day operational matters.

Interested candidates are advised to apply early, as the vacancy will close once the right candidate is found.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate student registrations, examination entries, results, post-results services and examination timetables, ensuring all key deadlines are met.

  • Support and deputise for the Examinations Manager when required, acting as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and inspections.

  • Ensure examinations are conducted in accordance with JCQ and awarding body regulations, including the secure storage and distribution of examination materials.

  • Coordinate Access Arrangements and Special Considerations applications, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.

  •  Produce examination timetables, prepare examination papers and packs, and ensure appropriate accommodation and trained invigilators are in place.

  • Coordinate and deliver training on examination conduct, regulations, invigilation and associated administrative processes.

  • Undertake spot checks and internal audits to ensure compliance with JCQ, awarding body and funding agency requirements.

  • Maintain accurate examination systems and records, respond to queries and support the MIS team during enrolment events.

Essential Criteria

  •  Relevant qualification at Level 3 or above.

  •  GCSE Maths and English at grade A*-C/4+ or recognised equivalent.

  •  Significant experience working in an examinations-related role within the education sector.

  •  Good understanding of JCQ rules and regulations, with experience of conducting examinations and assessments.

  •  Experience of Access Arrangements and Special Considerations and working with awarding body systems and platforms.

  •  High standard of IT skills, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  •  Excellent administrative, organisational, communication and customer care skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  •  Ability to manage deadlines, build positive relationships and deliver high standards in a busy working environment.
