Oakgrove School are looking to appoint an Exams Manager from March 2023. The Exams Manager will be responsible for all exams, both internal and external, including submitting entries, posting results, timetabling, staffing and arranging venues. The Exams Manager will also line manage the Exams Assistant and our team of Exam Invigilators. The successful candidate must be very well organised and have excellent written and verbal communication skills as they will be expected to liaise with a number of different stakeholders and agencies. The successful candidate will ideally have experience working as part of or leading an Exams Team, if not, experience of using SIMS is essential.

Main duties will include but are not limited to:

●  Main contact person for all exam boards

●  Ensure all exam entries are processed on time and in line with all appropriate rules/regulations.

●  Ensure all administration for exams are carried out as required

●  Ensuring that guidelines and procedures laid down by all awarding bodies are followed at all times

●  Ensure dissemination of information about internal and external exams to all stakeholders as required

●  Ensure co-ordination of exam results days and post results administration as required

●  Ensure secure systems of storage and retrieval for examination board materials and question papers and be a key holder to all secure exam papers and stationery

●  Ensure that administration of exams is streamlined and continuously updated

Oakgrove School is a modern and innovative place to learn; it has been purpose-built in four phases with a state-of-the-art design. It was graded as Good with Outstanding features by Ofsted in July 2019.

Following the opening of our Primary School and Nursery in September 2016, Oakgrove School became the first “All-Through” school in Milton Keynes accommodating 50 children in Nursery, 90 in Foundation, Year 1 and 2 and 60 in Year 3, 4, 5 and 6. At full capacity, Oakgrove Primary and Nursery will accommodate up to 630 pupils.

At the Secondary School we now have 300 students in each year group plus 350 students in our growing Sixth Form.  We are now an 3-19 academy, currently standing at 2410 students, and will continue to grow in size over the coming years.

We are fortunate to have excellent sporting, arts and community facilities combined with the latest ICT and communications infrastructure to support students' learning. We believe we are a school which places learning at the centre of its work.

Oakgrove is a good school with many outstanding features. The outstanding leadership of the head teacher and the senior leadership team has enabled the school to make excellent progress and achieve a great deal since it opened in 2005. The head teacher, senior leaders and governors share a clear vision for the development of the school. The school motto 'Excellence, Innovation and Respect' is at the heart of all the school does. Over the years we have constantly evaluated and reviewed our school systems leading to improvements in standards, teaching and curriculum and the leadership team demonstrates outstanding capacity for future improvement.

Most students say they really enjoy coming to school where they feel very safe and well cared for. Several told inspectors that it was the best school they had been to. The school has a strong ethos of respect, which leads to outstanding behaviour in all aspects of school life. The school ethos is well understood by both students and staff and is supported by a structured system of rewards and sanctions. Attendance is good and the school continues to use well thought out strategies to deal with students who are regularly absent. The school is already very popular with parents and is oversubscribed.

From the very start, Oakgrove School has implemented an exemplary assessment and tracking system which has enabled very close monitoring of all students' progress in all subjects. The 'Targets for Learning' system is used to set realistic and challenging targets for all students and assessment data is very well used to monitor progress towards achieving those targets. Additional support is put in place quickly for those students identified at risk of underachieving, and to ensure that more able students are stretched to achieve their potential.

Assessment data is very well used by teachers in planning their lessons to meet the different needs of individual students and to target additional support where needed. Our pastoral team monitor the progress of different groups of students, for example, those identified with behavioural issues, or those considered to be at risk of underachieving, and higher attaining students. They monitor how effectively subject teachers respond to the different needs of learners in their classes and enable them to share good practice.
