Hoe Valley School is an oversubscribed secondary School that opened in September 2015 to serve the local community of South Woking. Delivering innovative and exciting lessons to years 7,8,9 and from September 2018, year 10, the School is committed to ensuring our students leave us with excellent academic outcomes, the skills to be ‘work-ready’ and the traits of excellent global citizens.   

Reporting to the School Business Manager, the job holder will be the first employee in this critical role. They will primarily be responsible for leading on the establishment of systems and procedures to enable external exams to take place as well as proving other support to the School.

As a new School, the School has no legacy systems and the job holder will be expected to establish efficient, straightforward and compliant processes ready for the first tranche of GCSE exams in Summer 2020.

As part of the School Administration Team, the job holder will also provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the School. These other duties will be expected to reduce as the School grows and the demands of the examinations role grows. Like all staff at HVS, the successful candidate will contribute to the journey of the School in becoming an outstanding and established local School.

You will represent the values and ethos of the School at all times and put the safety and wellbeing of our students first. 

The role is full-time (40 hours per week) for a maximum of 41 weeks of the year. The weeks of working are expected to be term time and then 2 or 3 weeks in the holidays to fit in with your responsibilities. Working hours are 8.00am – 4.30pm daily, although there may be some flexibility for the right candidate. There is an annual leave allowance of 20 days (excluding Bank Holidays) which will normally only be granted during School holidays.

About you:  

- You will have educational qualifications to A level or equivalent and minimum GCSE (Grade C or higher) or equivalent (NVQ level 2) in English and Mathematics

- You will be ICT literate with proficiency in a range of applications

- You will have knowledge of JCQ Instructions for Conducting Examinations and access   arrangement processes

- You will be able to show evidence of successful sustained employment in a comparable working environment with responsibility for exams and working in an administrative role in an educational setting
