E-ACT North Birmingham Academy is looking for an enthusiastic Exams & Cover Officer to join their supportive team in an exciting work environment. Is this for you? The purpose of this role is to ensure the effective organisation and co-ordination of all examinations within the academy and ensure effective day to day cover arrangements are in place for absent colleagues.

The contract that is on offer is full time (37 hours per week) and permanent, and we require the successful candidate to commence employment as soon as possible once onboarding processes are complete. The role will be predominately based at E-ACT North Birmingham Academy but with occasional travel to your academies will be required and of course, to build on your relationship with our fantastic E-ACT colleagues.  

 Key Responsibilities: 

  • Work with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement information and communication systems with school
  • Manage, operate, maintain and develop all procedures in relation to external and internal examinations as specified in the agreed Examinations Procedure
  • Liaise with appropriate parties in all examination related matters, including students with entry issues
  • Ensure entries and amendments are entered into the information management system and communicated to relevant boards
  • Receive and secure examination papers, stationery and materials

 

Pay range:  Scale Point 20-24 (£30,296 - £33,024)

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs grades 4-9 including Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Previous exams officer experience
  • Good understanding of current developments in secondary school curriculum and examination systems
  •  Additional qualification in statistics, data analysis or appropriate subject (desirable)

North Birmingham Academy is a co-educational academy school based in Birmingham for students aged 11-19.

E-ACT sponsors the school. The standard admission number for North Birmingham Academy is 180.

The school underwent major redevelopment in 2013 and is built over 10,500m2 set in over 16 acres of landscaped grounds. Its £23.6m purpose built facility hosts a selection of services which benefit its students.
