The Exam Assistant’s role is to support the Exams Officer with all aspects of internal and external examinations testing. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Maintaining exam stationery stock

Updating invigilator instruction booklets

Collating and filing International Foundation Programme exam scripts

Booking IELTS exams as advised

Sending IELTS exam confirmations and instructions to students

Inputting IELTS results for tracking

Scanning and uploading IELTS certificates to SIMS records

Creating Academic Transcripts and Letters of Study.

Filing and sending out exam certificates

Assisting Exams Officer with:

Internal Testing

Creation of exam timetables

Room allocation

Creation of exam season on SIMS exams module

Creation of mark sheets for exam entry

Collation of staff availability

Creation of Invigilation schedule

Sending student timetables

Preparing exam rooms

Collection of exam scripts as evidence for SEN requirements

Public Examinations

Room allocation

Checking and countersigning exam papers

Invigilation schedule

Catering for exam supervision students

Qualifications and Personal Development

Educated to A-level standard or equivalent

Experience of working with school MIS

Experience of administering school examinations

Experience of creating and managing school timetables

Checks and Training

• Enhanced DBS checks to ascertain successful candidates suitability to work with children will be carried out. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and therefore all convictions, cautions and bindovers, including those regarded as ‘spent’ must be declared.

• Online searches will be carried out on candidates for any unsuitable content by or about candidates.

• Two written & verbal references from previous employers and a personal reference will be sought. Referees will be asked about candidates suitability to work with children and whether they know of any disciplinary offences relating to children or young persons and whether candidates have been the subject of any child protection allegations or concerns and if so the outcome of any enquiry or disciplinary procedure.

• Candidates full employment history will be checked, any significant gaps will require explanation and proof of any relevant qualifications will need to be provided.

• Successful candidates will be required to complete Child Protection Training via e-learning prior to commencing employment.

• Pre-employment health screening will also be carried out.
