Job overview

Clyst Vale is a thriving and vibrant 11-18 Community College situated five miles from Exeter. Visitors to Clyst Vale usually comment on the friendly, orderly atmosphere, the courtesy of our students, and the purposefulness in lessons. We have clear expectations and systems, but far more important are the excellent working relationships we establish between staff and students, as well as staff and parents. We remain the only secondary school in Devon to be accredited Silver Rights Respecting School status.

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our dedicated staff as Exams Officer starting as early as possible in 2022.  As we are an 11- 18 college you will be responsible for the smooth administration of examinations for both pre and post 16 students, an opportunity that is not available in most colleges.  Whilst this offers its own challenges it also brings its own rewards, in the depth of knowledge and experience this will afford the right candidate.

To ensure that we attract the right candidate we are offering a choice of hours and will look to appoint either 1 x full time Exams Officer over 5 days per week or 2 x part-time Exams Officers working 3 days per week each.

Experience of working in a school within the exams department would be an advantage, as we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running in this fundamental role within the college. There is the possibility for a period of training with the current Exams Officer. In addition, we are looking for someone who has excellent organisational skills and attention to detail in a fast-moving environment. The ability to work with high levels of tact, confidentiality and discretion is also high on our list of requirements.

If you feel that you can fulfil our requirements and fit with the values and ethos of our college, then we would like to hear from you. Please ensure you state which working hours you are interested in, including both options if that is the case.

Closing date for all applications is: 9:00am on Tuesday 4th January 2022.

Interviews will take place on Friday 14th January 2022.
