Are you an organised, detail-focused and proactive Exams Officer, ready to lead and manage the school’s external examination process and key elements of internal assessments?

This is a pivotal role within the school, ensuring all examinations are administered efficiently, accurately and in full compliance with JCQ regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, students, parents and examination boards to deliver a smooth and professional exam service.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and administer all external examinations and significant internal assessments

  • Manage exam entries, results, reviews of marking and coursework/NEA submissions

  • Ensure full compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations

  • Recruit, train and manage a team of invigilators

  • Oversee secure handling and storage of exam materials

  • Communicate effectively with staff, students, parents and external agencies

  • Manage the examination budget and associated expenditure

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills

  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel and Word (experience with Arbor advantageous)

  • The ability to work calmly under pressure and to tight deadlines

  • Flexibility to work longer hours during peak exam periods (balanced by time off during quiet times)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience in an administrative or school environment (desirable)

We are offering this role on an 'annualised hours' basis. While this equates to approximately 30 hours per week, the actual working pattern will be flexible, with longer hours during peak times and the ability to work reduced hours during quieter periods.
