About the Role: As the Head of Humanities, you will oversee the Humanities department, ensuring the delivery of an engaging and comprehensive curriculum aligned with the British educational standards. This leadership position not only involves managing and mentoring a team of talented teachers but also playing a key role in curriculum development and student engagement across diverse cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Humanities department and promote excellence in teaching practices and student outcomes.
  • Develop and implement innovative curriculum enhancements to foster a love of learning among students.
  • Collaborate with other department heads and the administrative team to align educational goals and strategies.
  • Ensure the academic and emotional well-being of students by fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Evaluate and report on teacher performance and departmental achievements.

Requirements:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent), a relevant undergraduate degree, and, ideally, management training
  • Demonstrate successful teaching of GCSE at good or better level
  • A minimum of 5 years teaching experience, including leadership roles within educational institutions.
  • Experience teaching the British Curriculum.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communicative abilities.
  • A proactive and innovative approach to education, with a commitment to developing lifelong learners.
