Tes is supporting the appointment of a Executive Director, Quality and Standards for an established well-regarded Trust that specialises in SEND.

Their pupils, students and staff are talented, unique and diverse, and they need a dynamic leader to join their Executive Senior Leadership Team in the rewarding and multi-faceted role of Executive Director, Quality and Standards. 

The opportunity

The new Executive Director, Quality and Standards (EDQS) will provide much needed and high-quality capacity to further meet the demands of the Trust's quality and standards function, as well as distributing line leadership and management of Principals and other senior postholders. The EDQS will report to the Deputy CEO and be under the broader direction of the CEO via the Executive Senior Leadership Team (ESLT)

You will be a senior leader from an education background, preferably with experience of working within a SEND environment and will have the following skills:

  • Significant experience of leading a school or an Academy in a Multi Academy Trust
  • A deep understanding and experience and successful track record of quality assurance and delivery with an education setting
  • A professional knowledge to drive forward organisational objectives particularly in terms of raising standards and quality of education across the Trust.
  • A demonstrable background in achieving results through the efficient use of resources and a commitment to quality outcomes.
  • High-level strategic leadership in the development and oversight of policies and programs to ensure high professional standards in relation to the delivery of curriculum, assessment, and reporting.
  • An ability and understanding on how to manage and develop our Academy Principals and Senior Leadership Teams through engagement and motivation with a successful and demonstrable background in developing capability and potential in others.
  • A highly developed ability to think, analyse and consider the broader context to develop practical solutions.
  • Respond to significant, complex and novel challenges with a high level of resilience and persistence.
