Executive Director

The Board of Governors of ELA Basel – The Swiss British School of Basel, is seeking to appoint an Executive Director to start in July/August 2018.

The organisation is not-for profit and has 300+ pupils drawn from a number of nationalities.

The Executive Director works directly with the Board of Governors to ensure the educational and business success of the school.

ELA Basel’s educational provision is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage and the English National Curriculum through to the start of Key Stage 3 (to Year 7).

The post would suit an experienced and well-qualified Headteacher or Senior Leader who is internationally-minded and passionate about the education of young children.

He or she will be:

• A highly competent manager with the capacity to delegate
• A bilingual communicator in English/German, which would be ideal, however a commitment to learning German is desirable for the success of the role
• Business literate and commercially astute
• Capable of engaging with Swiss culture, with a high level of cultural sensitivity
