Applications are invited for the Executive Head of School at The M-PESA Foundation Academy. The Academy is a state of the art, co-educational and residential High school which aims to nurture and develop the future leaders of Kenya and Africa.

Driven by a desire to foster leadership and entrepreneurship and underpinned by a huge investment in technology, the Academy’s vision is to develop transformational leaders through innovative approaches to a holistic education.
The M-PESA Foundation Academy, located in Thika, 45 kilometres north of Nairobi, has state of the art facilities. Catering for up to 840 students from the age of 14 to 18, the Academy is in the process of fully transitioning to the International Baccalaureate.

The Executive Head of School will be an outstanding leader with a deeply rooted understanding of education and passion to lead a world class school.

The Board of Directors are looking to appoint an Executive Head of School who will:

  • have international educational exposure with a visionary approach, committed to success, and with a proven leadership track record;
  • have experience and demonstrable enthusiasm for a truly holistic approach to education;
  • show ambition to evolve a curriculum to enhance the academic learning and achievements of students, whilst maximising the potential and growth of all individuals, as future leaders of the African continent;
  • be a confident and impressive communicator who will command the interest and imagination of students and staff, and demonstrate the energy, focus and commitment to the highest quality assurance for the institution;
  • have empathy and appreciation for the Kenyan culture as well as integrity to work closely with the Board and in all engagements with the Academy’s stakeholders.

The appointed candidate should be able to assume duties ideally as of January 2021, or as soon as possible thereafter. The post commands a generous and competitive salary which will reflect the importance of the post.

Introduction

The MPESA Foundation Academy is established on a modern campus of 75 acres, 45 kilometres outside Nairobi. The state of the art academy is presently offering the Kenyan Secondary Education curriculum whilst transitioning to the International Baccalaureate as a candidate school with a view to offer the IB Career-related Program by September 2020 and both the IB Diploma Program and Middle Years Program by September 2021 with an aim to become an IB World School.
