Job overview
We are seeking to appoint an Executive Head of the Roundhouse College, a college within the Derby College Group covering a broad based curriculum from entry level to HE. The role has responsibility for providing strategic leadership to the College’s Heads of Faculty who are responsible for the provision within the Roundhouse College; and it is accountable for the overall performance of these faculties.
The Executive Head will also provide strategic leadership to the Head of Behaviour for Learning, accountable for the management and promotion of high standards of behaviour, attendance and engagement of students to support effective learning and progress of students.
They will ensure that the College:
• works towards a common goal through co-operation and team work so that it achieves its KPIs, targets and outcome measures; and
• increases participation and social mobility and that progression and pathways lead to aspirational destinations.
This is a new role which provides an excellent opportunity for the right person to help shape the position and to make a valuable contribution to students and colleagues. We are looking for an experienced leader who is passionate about education and student welfare. The right candidate will have experience of effectively managing teams to achieve the desired outcomes and driving continuous improvement.

About Derby College
Derby College is a large general further education college with four sites in or near the city of Derby. It supports around 26,000 learners, who choose from more than 1,000 full-time and part-time apprenticeship, A-level, BTEC and NVQ courses.
Derby College was established as a single institution in 2002 by merging three further education colleges: Mackworth Tertiary College, Wilmorton Tertiary College and Broomfield Agricultural College. A merger between South East Derbyshire College and Derby College was approved in 2010. Heavy investment has been made by the college in its teaching and learning facilities, from the fully equipped teaching kitchens at the Roundhouse campus to the high-tech science labs at the Joseph Wright Centre and the Equestrian Centre at the Broomfield Hall campus.
