The Board of Governors of Solihull School invites applications for the role of Executive Head on the retirement of Mr David Lloyd in December 2022, following twelve years of exceptional leadership.
Founded in 1560, Solihull School is a leading co-educational day school with a national reputation for providing a rigorous and well-rounded education for pupils aged 3-18 years. Following the successful merger with Saint Martin’s School in 2020, Solihull School is now proudly located across two campuses close to the town centre, with circa 450 pupils at Solihull Preparatory School and 1,100 pupils at Solihull Senior School. The School is a beacon of excellence, based on a very strong tradition of blending a broad curriculum, a wide ranging co-curricular provision and excellent pastoral care. Solihull has a strong Christian foundation and maintains an active relationship with the local community, including a breadth of outreach activities and partnerships.

About Solihull School
Solihull is a leading coeducational independent 3 – 18 day school. The school has been in existence since 1560 and is located across two campuses. Solihull Preparatory School (3 – 11) on the 20-acre Saint Martin’s campus and Solihull Senior School (11 – 18) on the 50-acre Warwick Road campus.
The school maintains strong links with former pupils’ via Solihull Community (alumni.solsch.org.uk) and has a very active and supportive Parents’ Association.
Solihull has more than 1,500 pupils, of whom around 450 are in the Preparatory School.
Solihull’s examination results are excellent; in 2023, 52% of A Level grades were marked A* to A and 77% were marked A* to B. 92% of pupils went to their chosen universities. All students who received offers to read Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Science met the conditions of their offer, as did our six students who received offers from Oxford or Cambridge.

Co-Curricular

Teaching at Solihull
Solihull School employs almost 320 staff in both teaching and support staff roles.
Teaching staff are knowledgeable in their subject area, and inspire pupils to excel. All teaching staff are expected to contribute to the exciting co-curricular programme.
The school facilitates and mentors unqualified teachers through Initial Teacher Training via the King Edward’s Consortium or assessment-only route, and welcomes applications from suitably experienced unqualified teachers.
