Job overview

This is a newly created role - a federation between Moss Hall Infant School and Moss Hall Junior School. Both schools are four-form entry schools, set in generous grounds close to West Finchley tube station. We are a community ready for the task ahead; we believe we can and will succeed.

We are seeking an inspirational and visionary Executive Headteacher capable of harnessing the potential of our schools.

You are presented with an exciting opportunity to set the Moss Hall federation on a strategic journey bringing together the community across both schools. As we travel this path together, you will play an integral part in carefully shaping our vision for the future. Your excellent communication and people skills will support the whole school community in collaborating to bring about positive and lasting change.

At Moss Hall Infant School and Moss Hall Junior School we have much to be proud of:

  • Fantastic, articulate children, happy to be at school and ready to learn.
  • A dedicated team of staff, ready for motivational leadership.
  • An energised and focused governing body, ready to work collaboratively to realise an ambitious vision for all members of the school community.
  • A supportive, enthusiastic parent body, engaged in their children’s education.
  • A commitment to a broad and balanced curriculum, particularly the excellent music provision for which we are known.
  • School grounds which offer much potential for the future; we have various open green spaces, a sports field, a swimming pool, a stage and a small wooded area.

You will see the task ahead as an exciting opportunity.

You will work collaboratively and positively with all stakeholders, facilitating the whole school community to work at its best. You will understand the importance of positive emotional relationships in motivating and nurturing both children and staff. You will encourage reflective practise across the schools and exemplify this in your approach to school evaluation. You will develop successful whole school systems and processes, enabling staff to drive school improvement effectively. You will be confident in analysing school data, enabling a focused and deliberate approach to school improvement.

You will have an infectious love of learning and will share our commitment to a broad and balanced curriculum. You will support us in enriching our curriculum to provide inspiring learning opportunities across the curriculum. You will be committed to a whole school approach to children’s well-being; the needs of the whole child will be at the centre of all our work together.

As an experienced leader you will recognise and harness our strengths.

You will be ambitious, creative and kind. You will lead our school community to be the best it can be.

If you have the vision, motivation and leadership skills to take on this role, we would love to hear from you.
