Job overview

We are seeking an inspirational, outward looking Executive Headteacher who has the drive and enthusiasm to shape the future development of our school and outreach service.

About Us: The Southover Partnership is a charity providing specialist education for children and young people with special educational needs in (i) our own secondary school and (ii) through our thriving Outreach Service which provides tailored one-to-one and group tuition in mainstream schools or at home, for children and young people aged 5-19, with a range of complex special needs. Our school works with young people living with autism and complex special educational needs, including social, emotional, and mental health needs.

The School is based on three sites around north London – in Finchley, Kingsbury and Southgate, working with 12 London Authorities across north London.

The School has around 40 pupils supported by 60 teaching and learning staff, while the Outreach Service supports over 40 pupils in Education Other Than at School (home tuition), as well as providing staff support in mainstream schools.

This is a fantastic time to be joining the Southover Partnership. Our last Ofsted rating (2018) was Good with most areas Outstanding.

‘Leaders relentlessly focus on ensuring that pupils are at the centre of everything that happens at the school. As a result, they have ensured that the quality of provision is outstanding’. OFSTED 2018

Following seven years as a highly effective executive headteacher, Dr Dayo Okunlola is retiring. We are looking for a positive, hard-working and strategically focused leader to progress further the vision and development of both the School and the Outreach Service.

The new Executive Headteacher will have a supportive and experienced Trustee Board and committed and talented staff team who are all keen to work with the successful candidate in developing a 5-year strategy for the Southover Partnership.

We are looking for someone with a warm and approachable nature to foster great relationships that bring together all aspects of the community so that together we can help our young people to flourish and reach their full potential, both individually and collectively.

Safeguarding

The Southover Partnership School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share the same commitment. The post is subject to an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and a range of other recruitment checks.

The Southover Partnership is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
