Alleyn’s Regent’s Park is a co-educational independent preparatory school for children aged 4 to 13, located in a beautiful historic former convent on the edge of Regent’s Park. As part of the wider Alleyn’s Schools Group, and an 11+ centre of excellence, we combine the distinctive warmth and ambition of the Alleyn’s community with an education that prepares children for the next steps in some of London’s most competitive senior schools.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is carefully designed to ignite curiosity, foster a genuine love of learning, and develop the knowledge and skills that ensure academic success. We balance rigorous preparation for senior school entry with a broad and stimulating educational experience that encourages children to ask questions, explore deeply, and think critically.

Children benefit from specialist teaching in Art, Drama, French, Music, and Sport from the earliest years, and from Year 5 onwards, all subjects are taught by specialists, providing high-quality, engaging, and enriching learning opportunities.

In addition to core subjects such as English, Maths, Science, and Humanities, pupils engage in a wide-ranging curriculum including Music, Drama, Dance, Art, Languages (French, Spanish, Latin, and Mandarin), Philosophy, Economics and Politics, and Computer Science, ensuring a broad, forward-thinking education that prepares them for the future.

Learning at Alleyn’s Regent’s Park is underpinned by the seven learning dispositions of responsibility, resilience, reflection, empathy and humility, thoroughness and focus, courage and self-belief and imagination. We see these as forming the basis for children in ‘how we learn’ and they are woven through teaching across all subjects during each child’s time at Regent’s Park, so that children become resilient, independent, resourceful and collaborative learners.

Academic Enrichment

An Alleyn’s Regent’s Park education extends far beyond the classroom. Inspired by the Alleyn’s ethos of "All We Can Be", we provide a rich programme of academic enrichment to stretch, challenge, and inspire every pupil.

From guest speakers and themed events to academic clubs (including STEM, Coding, and Languages), our pupils are encouraged to explore ideas, pursue interests, and develop a life-long love of learning.

Our focus on critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning helps pupils become intellectually curious and confident – ready for the challenges of Senior School and beyond.

Co-curricular: All In

Our All In co-curricular programme is an essential part of life at Alleyn’s Regent’s Park. We believe every child should have the opportunity to find their 'thing', whether in sports, the arts, academic clubs, or leadership opportunities.

Children participate in a wide range of clubs and activities, from football, street dance, fencing, and karate to creative writing, film-making, knitting, textiles, and music ensembles. Our vibrant Music and Performing Arts programme includes choirs, brass bands, orchestras, and drama productions, with opportunities for individual music tuition and LAMDA preparation.

We also offer academic clubs (STEM, coding, languages), environmental initiatives (Climate Change Committee and gardening clubs), and leadership opportunities (School Council, Charity Committee, pupil-led projects).

Many clubs and activities are offered free of charge, and pupils are encouraged to commit to their chosen activities, building resilience, teamwork, and a sense of achievement.

Facilities

Alleyn’s Regent’s Park is set in a beautiful heritage building, rich in character, yet being transformed into a state-of-the-art educational environment through significant investment. Over the next 18 months, we will deliver a multi-million-pound refurbishment programme, creating spaces that are designed to inspire learning, foster creativity, and support wellbeing.

Plans include:

· A new Dining & Dance facility

· The remodelling of the school’s historic Chapel into a Creative & Performing Arts Hub

· Creation of a dedicated Wellness Centre, The Well – our dedicated Pastoral Hub, supporting proactive wellbeing, medical care, and counselling services
