Are you someone who is passionate about inspiring school communities to achieve their full potential? Following the retirement of our Headteacher, Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School and Sixth Form College is looking for someone equally inspiring to take us forward with the next chapter. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a high level of ambition, be inspirational, charismatic and show a deep commitment to supporting all students whatever their needs and aspirations.

The school sits at the heart of our local community in the picturesque village of Holmes Chapel in Cheshire with easy access to the motorway network and good rail links. Working in partnership with the Local Authority, we are currently developing exciting plans to expand the number of school places we offer and to further develop the school to meet the needs of students in the future. Our school has a reputation for delivering not only strong outcomes in terms of national exam results, but also because of our focus on pastoral care, supporting all students to develop to their maximum potential.

Our new Headteacher will already have the communication and political skills to be able to operate effectively at all levels within the internal and external environment. HCCS is a designated Teaching School and one of fourteen schools who together form the Chimney House Teaching Schools Foundation, providing high quality CPD and Initial Teacher Training across East Cheshire.

Our new Headteacher will find a professional and committed team of staff, working in a vibrant teaching and learning environment with enthusiastic, well-motivated students. Parents engage positively with the work of the school in a family orientated environment. You will be supported by knowledgeable and competent governors who care about your well being and the success of our School and Sixth Form College. With access to a supportive network of headteachers from local schools across the Chimney House Alliance, you will play a key role in providing inspirational leadership to our Initial Teacher Training School based on site. This is an exceptional opportunity for the right person to work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to deliver a very bright future for our students and staff.

So if you are a values driven leader who truly puts students at the heart of your decision making. You are able to articulate passionately, a very clear vision for the school and be able to draw people in to sharing that vision. You can demonstrate a successful history of leading complex change programmes in an educational setting and are relentless in the desire to make our school an outstanding success for our students. Then we would like to hear from you.

Informal discussions are welcomed and encouraged. These can be arranged by contacting Pauline Challinor, PA to Headteacher on 01477 41050 0 or by email pauline.challinor @ hccs.info . In response to the ongoing pandemic, informal discussions will be conducted via google meet or Zoom in the first instance.

Applications must be completed online through the TES portal. A full application form is required together with a separate, succinct (no more than 2 sides of A4), accompanying letter in which you address the skills and competencies required of this role.
