Job overview

The Governors, staff and children of the Sledmere and Wetwang Federation seek an inspirational leader who has the vision and skills to further develop the effectiveness of our federation and build on the successes of our popular rural schools, joining us in January 2018 or earlier if possible.

Both schools are currently rated “good” and are situated in small rural communities and have happy learners, eager to achieve, with motivated and enthusiastic teams. To build on our successes we are looking for a strong leader who is resourceful and caring and who can bring along continued improvements, building our federation whilst still retaining the unique characteristics at each school.

Our schools have shared Christian values and a vision which we use to help us achieve the high standards to which we aspire.

Our Values are:

Friendship

Honesty

Perseverance

Responsibility

Respect

Forgiveness

Our Vision

As a federation, we have worked closely with all stakeholders to agree our Vision.

Our schools offer a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment for every child. All individuals have the chances they deserve and the opportunity to develop skills for life. The Christian ethos of the schools is underpinned by the Christian values of friendship, honesty, responsibility, respect, perseverance and forgiveness. We all work together to ensure that our schools are a happy and exciting place in which to learn and to inspire a sense of awe and wonder. Children leave us with the potential to become respected, independent and tolerant members of society.

Our schools are looking for someone who can provide visionary and creative leadership providing opportunities for progression towards excellent outcomes through effective use of resources and working as part of a larger team, with shared goals.

We look forward to meeting candidates who can:

  • provide leadership experience, as a head or deputy in past roles
  • create and maintain a productive learning environment which is engaging and fulfilling for all members of the school community
  • foster the continuous improvement and quality of education offered by each school
  • preserve and develop the Christian ethos for both schools.

You will be offered a comprehensive three year induction package.

Visits to the school are encouraged and if you would like to take the opportunity to view the schools and meet the staff and children please contact Tanya Thurlow, School Business Manager, tel (01377) 236679 or (01377) 236267 or email wetwang.primary@eastriding.gov.uk
