Job overview

We are Britain's first federated school where Boys, Girls and Sixth Formers are taught separately on the same site. Our federation has won national awards and enjoys state-of-the-art buildings and facilities in a completed £45 million redevelopment.

For the last four years, the federation has gone from strength to strength. Our 2015 A2 results place us in the top 20% of schools nationally and we have seen significant improvements in our GCSE results.

We are proud of our success so far, as a genuine comprehensive federation inspired by gospel values and of our reputation for providing a challenging secondary education, within a happy and caring environment. This is built firmly upon a belief in the importance of establishing a strong partnership between home, school and Church and a tradition of very high expectations for all of our students. This is a chance to join one of the fastest improving schools in the country.

The Governors are seeking a leader to continue the inspirational work achieved so far and to take the federation to yet greater heights. This is a fantastic opportunity to build on the solid foundations of high achievement and aspiration. We are proud of our federation but recognise that we cannot afford to be complacent.

We acknowledge the tremendous talent of our staff in being creative, innovative and supportive to get the most out of our students.  We are seeking an inspirational, consultative leader who will harness this energy and drive and take the federation to the next level.

The successful candidate must be a Catholic in good standing with the church and will demonstrate:

  • Commitment to developing and celebrating the Catholic life of the federation.
  • Commitment to multicultural outreach.
  • A proven track record of successful school leadership at Headteacher/Principal level.
  • A thorough understanding of innovative educational developments.
  • Excellent inter-personal and effective communication skills.
  • A clear understanding of strategic and financial management.
  • A proven track record of raising standards in teaching and learning, leading to measurable whole school improvements, within a consistent, caring, accountable ethos.
