The Governors of the Federation, are seeking an experienced, talented and inspirational school leader to build upon our schools’ considerable successes and take us forward into the next phase of our development. Our current Headteacher at St Francis is retiring at the end of the spring term after 23 years in a long and successful career. Her achievements, of which we are very proud, now offers us the opportunity to build on them further and to shape and deliver the vision that will drive the Federation forward.

The schools formed a hard Federation in 2017 and we are looking to appoint an exceptional school leader who will lead the Federation in the developing landscape of special education in Lincolnshire and connect with the young people, their parents and carers, creating a school community that allows every child to thrive.

St Francis is a special school taking children between the ages of 3 and 19 who have cognitive, communication and physical difficulties. Some children may also have multi-sensory impairment and complex medical difficulties. St Francis also has residential status on a five days per week, term time basis, and an off-site provision for complex young adults aged 19 plus. We are also a lead school for School Direct students with a very strong reputation locally and regionally.

St Christopher’s is a special school for students aged 4 -16 with moderate, severe and complex learning difficulties and pupils on the autistic spectrum.

We have dedicated staff, excellent facilities, and a strong working relationship with multi-professional services and the Local Authority.

For the right candidate, this post offers an exceptional opportunity to use their knowledge, experience and creativity to build on our school’s strengths, continue to empower our team and lead our school to even greater success.

The successful candidate will :

  • Enjoy a welcoming working environment, built on supportive relationships
  • Have a highly-committed staff team; keen to grow and develop
  • Enjoy working with courageous children who have a love of learning
  • Have an open-minded, committed, supportive and forward-thinking governing body
  • Build on the success of the federated schools working in partnership to create a seamless educational journey
  • Demonstrate high expectations and set challenging targets for pupils to
    improve outcomes for all
  • Have a proven track record of raising standards in teaching and learning in SEND
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and be committed to developing positive relationships with the wider community.
