The Wolds and Vale Federation was initially formed in November 2016. It comprises of two schools, Luttons Community Primary School and Sherburn Church of England (VC) Primary School, both of which are situated in the beautiful Ryedale district of North Yorkshire. Both Schools are Forest Schools with a keen desire to further develop and embed the forest school ethos.

Currently rated as Good by Ofsted, both schools offer a unique opportunity for an Executive Headteacher to lead, shape and develop our newly formed federation.

Sherburn C of E Primary School is a small village Church of England school which embeds Christian values into the school. The school aims to create a welcoming, stimulating, positive and disciplined learning environment, allowing all children to realise their full potential.

Likewise, Luttons Community Primary School is a small rural school which aims to nurture, support and mentor all children on their journey towards achieving excellence. The school focuses on providing a stimulating learning environment, which develops the children into caring and independent individuals.

Both schools benefit from a large support network including strong support from the governing body, the local authority and the diocese as well as pastoral support from the clergy.

We are seeking to appoint a committed and experienced professional with a remit to further shape our improvement plan while continuing to raise standards by developing the federation and improving partnership working across the two schools.

In order to succeed, you will have the ability to lead by example with integrity, creativity, resilience and clarity. You will drive high standards across the school instilling a strong sense of accountability in staff for the impact of their work on pupils’ outcomes.

Effectively the ‘face of the federation’, you must be a strategic thinker able to communicate and influence across a wide range of audiences. A motivator and leader, you must have the capability and creativity to build and strengthen teams and achieve the vision of the federation.
