Job overview

The Cambian Group is the leading provider of specialist behavioural health services, providing life-transforming care and education to some of the most vulnerable children and young people in the UK. Cambian has a clear vision and ambitious plans to further strengthen their offering and to expand their portfolio across the country and have exciting opportunities for Executive Headteachers who can provide strategic direction and day to day leadership at a local level.

As Executive Headteacher you will be responsible for a portfolio of residential SEND schools and colleges, developing strong and purposeful working relationships with the Principals. Your focus will be on ensuring the highest quality education, care and therapy provision is maintained across them all, and is evidenced through regulatory inspections. You will also ensure Cambian’s values, ethos and commitment to making a difference to the lives of vulnerable children and young people underpins all practices.

This is an exciting time to join Cambian as it grows and develops and they want dynamic and inspirational leaders who share their ambition and commitment to excellence. You will work with a talented and experienced executive team who are passionate about their schools and colleges and to ensuring the young people have every opportunity to achieve their best. Their commitment to enabling individuals to achieve their personal best applies equally to staff and you will receive comprehensive support to ensure you build your career and develop professionally.

If you have a recent and proven track record as a Principal/Headteacher of a residential school or group of schools, including leading them through regulatory inspections, and have the determination to maximise the opportunities available then this role offers an excellent opportunity to challenge yourself in a new environment. There will be a need for regular travel within your region and you will manage your time dependant on the needs of individual schools.

You must be ambitious and forward thinking with the ability to inspire and lead change but also have the focus to ensure successful outcomes are reached. You will be analytical and resilient with a positive and upbeat attitude and a curiosity that allows you to question what might be and to identify opportunities for innovation. You must be skilled at building, leading and inspiring effective teams and be an effective team member. Above all you will share Cambian’s passion and belief that students, their learning, their care and developing their potential is at the heart of all decisions.
