We rarely recruit to Executive Principal positions; this is an exceptional opportunity to lead a large, growing school on the South Coast.

As one of the largest schools in our network, Alexandra requires an experienced and strategic leader to ensure excellent outcomes for our pupils. This is a great opportunity for either an experienced Principal who wishes to remain in school, but wants to step into executive leadership, or an experienced Executive Principal who gains most satisfaction from working within a busy school setting, engaging with staff, parents and pupils.

The Principal of Ark Alexandra has worked hard to implement our key priorities and will continue to lead the school in collaboration with the new Executive Principal. As a large and complex school, based across a split site, we need this dual leadership and oversight to ensure we continue to improve the quality of education for our pupils. The Executive Principal will provide strategic leadership across both school sites whilst also working closely with the Principal, and senior leadership team on a day-to-day basis.  They will have the full support of the Regional Director and the network to ensure that Ark Alexandra Academy makes a lasting contribution to its community, supporting local children to fulfil their ambitions.

Our School:

Ark Alexandra Academy is a large secondary school, with 6th form, situated on the south coast in Hastings, East Sussex. A popular school, Ark Alexandra has grown from a 10 to 12 form entry last year. As a split site school this brings with it unique opportunities for growth and staff development. At its most recent Ofsted inspection in September 2021, Leadership & Management, Behaviour & Attitudes, Personal Development and Sixth Form were all judged to be Good.

Ark Alexandra Academy is part of the Ark network. The school works closely with its feeder primary schools, Ark Blacklands Primary Academy, Ark Castledown Primary Academy and Ark Little Ridge Primary Academy. All three are highly successful schools both in terms of academic outcomes for pupils as well as creating confident, kind children who are ready for the next part of their journey into secondary school.

What we offer:

  • Influence across network-wide issues through our principal meetings and regional collaboration
  • On-hand expertise from our dedicated central education and operations teams who are ready to support you and your school
  • Bespoke teacher development programmes supported by the Great Teacher Rubric
  • Excellent career development opportunities across both the region and wider Ark network
  • Access to excellent senior leader training
  • Highly competitive remuneration
