Stamford Park Trust is a Multi-Academy Trust founded by Ashton Sixth Form College, an Outstanding 16-19 College in Tameside, Greater Manchester. In June 2020, the transfer to the Trust of two local 11-16 High Schools, Longdendale and Rayner Stephens, was approved by the Regional School Commissioner, to be completed in January 2021.

We are therefore looking for an Executive Principal to lead the Trust’s Secondary Schools into the next phase of their development. Both received disappointing Ofsted judgements in early 2020 and will benefit from the support, resources, organisational and educational excellence provided by the Trust. We want all the young people in the Trust to have the benefits of attending an Outstanding Academy as soon as possible. Consequently, the Trust Board wishes to appoint a leader with a collegiate style, and with presence, gravitas and integrity, who is committed to rapidly improving outcomes, attainment, achievement and progress within an inclusive 11-16 environment. We wish to appoint someone who knows what steps are needed to improve a school in a sustainable manner, but with pace, and who has the inspirational and organisational qualities to take a lead on that journey, whilst preserving and further developing the beliefs, values and culture of the Academies within the Trust.

Stamford Park Trust and our Academies are situated in Tameside, close to the M67, with a direct commute from much of the North West, Manchester, Bolton, Bury, Stockport, Oldham, Warrington, Rochdale, Merseyside and the towns and cities of North Derbyshire, South and West Yorkshire.

This is a unique opportunity, and you will find different aspects of this role fulfilling, dependent on your existing skills and achievements: -

  • A Principal/Headteacher of a smaller school or a stand-alone Academy will be excited by the prospect of implementing their skills across more than one school, and of executive and system leadership in our MAT and its expansion, in building relationships within the town and our region, and seeking partnership opportunities to deliver excellence and security to young people on a wider scale.
  • A Head of School, or exceptional Deputy Principal with very significant experience and success, will find the challenge of multi-school leadership an exciting one, with our dedicated and talented Headteachers and Senior Leaders providing an excellent platform for future achievements.

We are looking for an outstanding educational leader with a strong track record of success and the vision, talent and ambition to lead our High Schools, line-managing our two Headteachers. Whatever your previous experience, the Trust will ensure this post is the right one for you, with real prospects of personal development and job satisfaction.

Potential candidates are welcome to contact our advisers ASDTi on 01457 851407 or 07736 775776 to arrange a visit to the Trust.

The appointment is, of course, subject to satisfactory references and a successful enhanced DBS Disclosure.

Further details and a full application pack are available from our advisers ASDTi by visiting and downloading from www.stamfordparktrust.co.uk by e-mailing pp@asdti.com  or by calling 07736 775776.

ASDTi are available, on our behalf, during evenings and weekends as well and would be pleased to discuss your application, career or relocation expectations.

Closing date for applications: Monday 12th October at 11.00pm.

Interviews will most likely be held during week commencing 19th October 2020.

Role start – negotiable subject to notice periods – on or after 1st January 2021.
