EXECUTIVE PRINCIPAL ROLE

Our client is an independent prep school in Thailand, looking for an experienced school leader to start in August 2017. This is an excellent package with many benefits including but not limited to: air travel, housing, utilities, medical, settling in allowance and transport. 

Purpose of the Executive Principal

The core purpose of the School Principal is to provide professional leadership and management for the school. This is to promote a secure foundation from which to achieve high standards in all areas of the school’s work but especially in the areas of achievement standards, curriculum and learning as well as academic faculty recruitment.

The Ex Principal will also work closely with the Thai Principal, Business Manager and the Leadership and Management team. (LMT).

KEY PRIORITIES

Strategic DirectionContinue to…

1. Develop with the Leadership Team an ongoing strategic plan and implementation process

2. Provide timely and accurate advice on issues

3. Will provide the LMT with informed comment on education issues giving guidance and direction.

Leading Learning and TeachingContinue to….

1. Ensure curriculum planning and delivery is in line with accreditation of school, IPC (International Primary Curriculum) and MOE obligations

2. Ongoing monitoring of schemes and planning takes place.

3. Ensure programmes recognise the specific learning needs of students and target key development areas.

4. Design, plan and implement programme of student and course

5. Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and standards if student achievement, using NZ benchmarks and setting targets for improvement.

1. Maintain harmonious working relationship between the SFI Leadership Team, staff and students

2. Be available to parents to discuss issues to their children

3. Ensure effective communication and deals with difficult situations

4. Clearly articulate the school’s vision, programme and achievements.

5. Maintain sound working liaison with appropriate agencies

6. Have in place effective behaviour management systems

7. Ensure provision of suitable student support facilities

1. Lead staff in planning, implementing and evaluation educational programmes.

2. Provide opportunities for ongoing dialogue with staff and opportunities for input into decision making

3. Staff appraisals and reviews

4. Ensure that learning is the central focus of the school

5. Employ quality staff in accordance with contractual policies

6. Manage staff effectively to meet contractual obligations

7. Implement the school’s performance management process to help lift staff capability

8. Motivate and support staff

Securing AccountabilityContinue to…

1. To be accountable for the efficiency and effectiveness of the school to the SFI Leadership Team. Board and external accreditation bodies

2. To ensure the parents and students are well informed about the curriculum, attainment and progress

3. Ensure that there is a good and healthy communication channel between the different factions of the school.

1. To continue to build the school culture as one which takes account of the richness and diversity of the SFI community.

2. To work positively with all divisions in the operations of the school.

3. To promote and strengthen links with the local community

4. To further develop links with the international community through links with organisations such as IPC , CIS and ISAT

QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

• Minimum Bachelor of Education Degree

• Minimum DP or AP prior position
