Job overview

Our school is currently seeking a highly experienced and motivated Deputy Head Teacher who is positive-minded and has experience teaching the British Curriculum. We particularly encourage Nigerians who have gained valuable experience teaching overseas to apply for this role, as we are looking for candidates who can bring their knowledge and skills back to their country and make a difference in the education sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the Head Teacher to develop and implement school policies and procedures
  • Lead and manage a team of teachers and support staff, providing guidance, support, and direction as required
  • Monitor and assess the quality of teaching and learning across the school, and take appropriate actions to improve outcomes for students
  • Play an active role in the school's pastoral care and welfare system, ensuring the needs of all students are met
  • Foster positive relationships with parents, the wider community, and other stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the school's strategic plan and vision
  • Participate in professional development activities and keep up-to-date with the latest teaching strategies and technologies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience teaching the British Curriculum, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Positive attitude towards contributing to the growth and success of the school
  • Proactive in bringing forth new ideas and initiatives to improve the school's performance and reputation
