Mathematics now plays a fundamental part in the education of our students, and teachers of maths are embedded within all of our curriculum areas to ensure that maths is fully integrated and contextualised.

About the Role

To support this model of delivery and provide cross-college leadership and co-ordination of standards’ as Expert Delivery Practitioner you will work cross College and oversee delivery of this important core subject. Whilst personally teaching on a variety of maths programmes, you will support and guide teaching staff whilst demonstrating and sharing best practice methods of delivery. You will be one of the College Lead IV’s for Maths and ensure internal verification procedures are rigorously applied. Ensure effective external verification arrangements are made with the appropriate awarding body/bodies and any actions arising from the visits are addressed by the IV and the team.

You will utilise your understanding and experience to diagnose strengths and weaknesses, and support colleagues to address areas of development.  The successful candidate will help colleagues build their own capacity and promote sustainable improvements.

This is a key role which will positively contribute to the quality of the learner experience and success rates of this important subject. The role involves working with the teachers and other cross college staff to deliver high levels student satisfaction, success and progression.

The salary is competitive and offers a generous pension scheme, holiday allowance (38 days in addition to a further 12 statutory holidays and college closure days) and excellent staff discount scheme.

About you

You will have a maths degree (or related subjects) and a full teaching qualification and will have taught maths for at least 5 years. You enjoy planning and prioritising your own workload.

You keep yourself up to date on best practice changes in maths. You will be a highly self-motivated, energetic and driven individual, encompassing a strong sense of autonomy. You will possess strong presentation and communication skills and be able to demonstrate achievement of targets.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual, who is passionate about learning, to coordinate and drive forward the cross college curriculum area of Maths.
