Job overview

Do you want to make a difference to the lives of our children?

We are looking for someone who is hardworking, a good team player and is passionate about working with young children.

St Edward’s is a large multicultural Church of England Voluntary Aided school situated just a ten minute walk from the town centre of Romford with its excellent transport links.  We are proud of our 300 year history but are also a friendly, forward-thinking school.

Although we are a large school, governors, staff, pupils and parents all work closely together which creates a friendly, family atmosphere.  The children enjoy a wide variety of extra-curriculum activities and sports are a particular strength of the school.

We are looking for an outstanding teacher, with a good sense of humour, who can inspire pupils and deliver learning opportunities which will develop children's interests and  challenge their thinking.  We are a three form entry school and you will therefore be able to plan together within your year group, supported by a Year Team Leader.

Newly Qualified Teachers are enrolled in the Local Authority’s induction programme and are mentored by a member of the Senior Leadership Team.  All of our previous NQTS have successfully completed their induction year and progressed in their careers.

We have a strong established management structure and this post offers excellent CPD opportunities.

We would like to appoint someone who:

• is supportive of our Christian values and ethos;

• is hardworking, skilled and able to motivate children;

• has a sound knowledge of the EYFS curriculum;

• enjoys teaching stimulating, challenging and enriching activities;

• has high expectations of pupils.

You will like working with us if you enjoy:

• a caring family culture;

• working with supportive staff, parents and governors;

• helping children to realise their full potential.

We have attached an information pack for prospective candidates which contains more detailed information about the post.  Further information about our school can also be found on our website, www.stedwardsva.net.

Application Procedure

Please complete the online application form and refer to the Job Profile and Person Specification when completing your supporting statement.

Closing date for applications: Wednesday, 2nd May 2018

Thank you for your interest in our school – we hope to hear from you soon.
