The role

Smart Teachers are seeking to assist a large and exciting all-through school in East London to recruit a talented Special Needs Support Assistant for 2 terms, from January 2022. The successful candidate will be based in the Primary SEN provision, and will provide support to children with diagnosed Autism aged 4-6 years old. Candidates will be required to demonstrate great team working skills but be able to use initiative and work independently when needed. Also, due to the size of the provision and high number of staff involved, a degree of flexibility will be required. Staff placed at this school have historically received excellent weekly CPD and have been offered great career progression opportunities due to the size of the school.

Graded ‘Good’ at its last OFSTED inspection, this school is extremely inclusive, and has been praised for its set-up when accommodating those with SEND. Led by an experienced SENDCO and middle leadership team, candidates receive excellent training on a weekly basis. Accessible from a tube and overground station, this role would suit either an experienced Special needs support assistant or an aspiring graduate.

Requirements

To be considered for the EYFS/KS1 Special Needs Support Assistant position, you will:

• Have experience of supporting children in Early years / Key stage 1

• Have a knowledge of / interest in supporting children with SEND

• Experience with children that we can reference from the last 5 years
