Job overview

Tes is supporting the appointment of a EYFS or Junior School Teaching Assistant to join a College based in Hillingdon.

The College Junior School is seeking enthusiastic, caring and committed, qualified Teaching Assistants to play a complementary and supporting role in encouraging their EYFS, KS1 and KS2 pupils in their learning. This role provides a wonderful opportunity to join their outstanding and inclusive team (ISI Inspection 2021) at NWC. They are a forward thinking, well established, yet growing school who values their staff and the contributions they make to the educational experience for their pupils.

They would welcome applications from those with experience in either EYFS, KS1 and KS2 and are keen to attract a wide range of candidates from both the state and independent sector. This approach is in line with their authentic inclusive approach as a school. Those who may not have worked directly in a school but have also worked in other Early Years settings are encouraged to apply.

Candidates need to hold NVQ Level 3, NNEB qualifications, or the equivalent. Commitment to wider school life is expected. NWC requires one full-time Teaching Assistant working 36 hours per week and another part-time Teaching Assistant working 3 or 4 days per week (21.6 or 28.8 hours). Please specify on your covering letter whether you are looking for full or part-time working.

About the School:

The College is an independent, academically selective day school for approximately 840 girls aged 3-18. They aim to foster success, endeavour, creativity, a spirit of enquiry and strength of mind. The College believes, with a passion, that every day at school should be a fulfilling and enriching experience within a happy, considerate community.

Set in a vibrant environment that simply buzzes with dynamic energy, excitement, curiosity and the sense of discovery, the Junior School constitutes an academically rigorous, inspirational and all-rounded education in itself, as well as providing the important bridge to their highly academic Senior School. In their recent ISI inspection it was noted that “Pupils are excellent communicators and very articulate. They develop a wide vocabulary from a young age, become accomplished readers, speak and write well and readily apply these skills to all other areas of their learning. They are adept in debate and discussion, expressing their opinions and reasoning clearly”.

Benefits

They can offer a variety of benefits, such as:

  • Competitive salaries and pay progression
  • Access to extensive professional development opportunities
  • Training grants for qualifications
  • Generous pension scheme
  • Free life assurance benefit
  • Health Assured Employee Assistance Programme
  • A discount of up to 50% on fees for children
  • Interest-free loans for training, computer purchase loans and travel season ticket loans
  • A Cycle to Work scheme
  • Competitive terms and conditions of employment
  • Access to the school gym and swimming pool
  • Free school lunches
