East Garforth Primary Academy is located in the outer east side of Leeds in the community of Garforth. The academy is a slightly larger than average sized academy, catering for pupils from the Early Years Foundation Stage, through Key Stage 1 into Key Stage 2. At East Garforth Academy, we strongly believe in giving individual attention to the needs of the children in our care. We encourage our children to be lifelong learners through the development of life skills, including responsibility, resilience, readiness for learning, resourcefulness and reflectiveness. Learning behaviours are excellent and it is our mission to offer every child a high quality education in a supportive, safe and challenging environment. Through this, children feel valued and respected and aim to be ‘the best they can be’.

Achieving Good during its last Ofsted inspection (June 2017), East Garforth Primary Academy achieves outcomes which are above national averages. The academy is very proud of its pupil directed MEGA curriculum (Mission East Garforth Academy), which engages children in problem solving and investigation. Children are expected to find out for themselves through research and collaboration. This approach ensures that children develop essential life skills and are well prepared for the future.

We value kindness and seek to create an academy where staff feel supported, encouraged and equipped by an excellent Trust-wide CPD programme and staff benefits scheme.
