The Trustees of the Royal Grammar School, Guildford are excited to be establishing a British School in Doha, Qatar, which will be called RGS Guildford Qatar. The first phase of this development is to create an outstanding co-educational prep school starting in September 2016 with Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage1, to be followed a year later with the full Key Stage 2 complement. The school will start with 270 pupils and grow to 570 when full from September 2017.

The successful applicant:
Teaching at RGS Guildford Qatar represents an outstanding opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated and committed teacher of Early Years who is excited to work at the school from the very beginning.

The successful candidates will have the requisite experience, personality and approach to inspire, challenge and motivate children through the successful delivery of the Early Years National Curriculum for England and Wales and ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting meet the varying learning and social needs of the pupils; maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside the classroom. Pre requisites

  • Bachelor Degree or higher
  • Certified teaching qualification (PGCE, Bed or equivalent)
  • Minimum of two years teaching experience with the National Curriculum for England and Wales
  • Proven record of exceptional teaching
  • The ability and willingness to teach Nursery or Reception.

The Royal Grammar School Guildford Qatar in Um Salal Mohammed, Qatar, is an international independent school for boys aged 3-18. The school is part of the Royal School, Guildford and Lanesborough Preparatory School in Surrey, England.

The school, which opened in 2016, aims to achieve academic excellence through the provision of a challenging British curriculum and outstanding teaching. The language of instruction is English, and while not mandatory, students are also encouraged to take Arabic. 

The Royal Grammar School Guildford Qatar aims to provide a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities as part of building its students life skills and helping them to develop their social, sporting and cultural abilities. By September the amenities available will include will include basketball and volleyball courts, a football field, a large fully equipped sports hall and an all-year round swimming pool.
