The successful candidate will be able to make a significant contribution to the non-academic operations as the School expands. The School

King’s College Doha is a British Curriculum school currently for students aged 3 to 13 with plans to open a new 3 - 18 campus in September 2022. We enjoy a strong relationship with King’s College Taunton, our sister school in the UK, and are proud to have brought nearly one hundred and fifty years of British education excellence to Qatar. Set on an outstanding campus, students and teachers at King’s College Doha benefit from first class facilities for both academic and co-curricular learning. 

The Person

The Facilities & Operations Manager (“FOM”) is responsible for many of the non-academic operations. The FOM is supported by members of staff offering leadership in and guidance on purchasing, facilities, IT, school services, etc.

The FOM reports to the Principal.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy

The FOM is a key member of the extended Senior Leadership team and works closely alongside the other Senior Leaders to develop, articulate and promote the vision, mission and values of the School. The FOM is responsible for the non-academic Strategic Development Plan and associated KPIs and actions as well as continuously reviewing and improving the School’s strategy in the areas of operations and risk management. 

Governance

The FOM is a key member of the facilities sub-committee and the H&S sub-committee meetings under the governorship of the School Advisory Board (SAB). The FOM, in conjunction with the chair of each sub committee, is responsible for the preparation and circulation of the agenda and papers ahead of the sub-committee meetings and the subsequent production and distribution of minutes. THE FOM will be a key contributor the termly Principal’s Report to the Board.

Premises Management

The FOM is responsible for the maintenance of all School buildings and for the upkeep of the School grounds. The FOM is also responsible for the cleanliness, good condition and security of the School buildings and other facilities.

The FOM will be the Health and Safety Officer for the school and have overall responsibility for health and safety, ensuring that the School complies with the highest standards of relevant legislation, and for ensuring that the School’s safety policy is kept up to date. The FOM will be responsible for chairing the regular safety committee meetings and for arranging the annual health and safety audit.

Business Development

The FOM is responsible for the operational management of all regular and ad hoc events.

The development of new innovative ideas for business development will be a key responsibility

Risk Management

Engage in the school’s operational risk management process with the objective of identifying key risks and implementing appropriate mitigating strategies.
