Leigh Academy Wilmington is a highly successful school where students from diverse backgrounds thrive in a calm, respectful, and purposeful learning environment. The IB philosophy underpins a carefully crafted curriculum that meets the needs and aspirations of all learners, with the IB Career-related Programme in Key Stage 5 and the IB Middle Years Programme in Key Stage 3 providing a truly global and future-focused education. The Academy boasts exceptional facilities in a semi-rural setting near Dartford, and students benefit from extensive enrichment, strong pastoral support, and a culture that values academic excellence, hard work, and good manners.

Value-added measures place the school in the top band nationally for both Key Stage 4 and 5, and outcomes are among the best for non-selective schools in Kent. Leigh Academy Wilmington fosters international-mindedness, teamwork, and inclusion through its small-school structure, vertical tutor groups, and moral purpose. A large number of students progress to university or high-level apprenticeships, supported by dedicated staff and a strong partnership with Leigh Academies Trust and external organisations.

The academy has been judged as Outstanding by Ofsted at their recent inspection in May 2023, having been evaluated as outstanding in each of the five areas of inspection, Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management and Sixth Form Provision.
