Salary:  Up to £45,000.00 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)

About the Role

The Facilities Manager plays a key role in supporting the growth and continued development of Kestrel House School. Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will be accountable for delivering high‑quality, efficient, and collaborative facilities support services across both Kestrel House School sites.

You will hold line management responsibility for the effective delivery of all facilities operations, including reactive and planned maintenance, compliance, catering, cleaning, and site safety. The postholder will ensure that the school environment is safe, secure, well maintained, and fully compliant with all relevant legislation, enabling staff and pupils to thrive.

As the lead point of contact for facilities management, you will ensure works are completed in a timely and cost‑effective manner, manage contractors and service providers, and ensure appropriate resources are in place to support the School Improvement Plan. You will also support the senior management team in developing and embedding best practice processes and policies across health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM)

  • Overseeing health & safety, site compliance, and RIDDOR reporting

  • Managing contractors, contracts, and approved supplier registers

  • Leading catering and cleaning services

  • Ensuring site security, asset and vehicle management

  • Line managing and developing the facilities team

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in Facilities Management, with a relevant professional qualification or membership (e.g. BIFM/IWFM) desirable

  • Strong experience in health & safety and risk management, ideally IOSH qualified, including contractor management, fire safety, COSHH, Legionella, and asbestos compliance

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, contractors, statutory bodies, and the local community

  • Good working knowledge of current building regulations

  • Confident IT user with experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and online facilities management systems or asset registers

  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent qualification
