The Facilities Manager supports the College Principal and Leadership team to realise the maintenance and improvement plans for the College. They are responsible for the day to day management of the College grounds and facilities and provide support in areas of building and construction, campus maintenance, workplace health and safety, cleaning, security, vehicles and event management. The role requires a broad range of professional skills. Substantial demonstrated experience as a Facilities Officer, Tradesperson, or similar role would be regarded highly. The key responsibilities of the Facilities Manager are to: Provide expert leadership and advice to the Principal in areas of Workplace Health and Safety, including contractor management, negotiating new contracts, facilities audits eg cleaning, energy management, etc; Work with the Principal on the Strategic Planning of the College’s Facilities for the College Master Plan, including budgeting and broad concepts for the Principal’s consideration and working with architects to transition from concept to completion; Provides key leadership in relation to the delivery of facilities management operations, including the delivery of the capital maintenance program, technical and due diligence audits and lifecycle and minor work projects at portfolio owned buildings. Provide support towards the planning, management and implementation of major improvements to the facility and landscaping, including induction and supervision of external contractors onto the worksite where appropriate; Co-ordinate preventative maintenance and minor upgrade programs for College facilities, including buildings, sporting facilities, landscaping, plant and equipment, and associated budgets; Co-ordinate and work towards delivery of environmental improvement plan eg cleaning, waste management, energy reduction, etc; Co-ordinate the security of the College with maintenance of the facility and using security software; Lead and co-ordinate facilities staff in their day to day duties, exercising discretion in prioritising day-to-to tasks for the team and working with the team to achieve objectives; Liaise with College staff, internal and external stakeholders, to ensure events are coordinated in a complex diary of events, which require quick set-up/changeover of facilities and organised in a timely manner and to the highest standard; Liase with stakeholders around the hire of facilities; Co-ordinate maintenance of College vehicles; Co-ordinate training in the correct use of College equipment, plant and machinery to the facilities staff and other staff as required Undertake investigations, resolve issues as appropriate and report to the Business Manager property, plant and equipment, and WHS issues in a timely manner Other duties as directed by the Principal.
